Green Pupae: painted silk |
||
The quietude of the pupa exists in glaring contradiction to the DNA whirlwinds coursing inside it. So it often is with us: when much is happening inside us we become paralyzed, almost unable to speak or act. So it is also with a society in transition: for true metamorphosis to occur, a period of stillness, of thoughtful reflection must occur. This is something we often resist with all our strength. |
